Mini Mathur, a prominent Indian television host, actor, and model, has recently brought to light the circumstances surrounding her departure from hosting duties on Indian Idol after Season 3. Mathur hosted the first six seasons of the popular singing reality show. She revealed that one of the reasons for her exit was the producers' reluctance to have a pregnant host.

In a recent interview, Mini Mathur revealed that she quit hosting the show after seeing that it had lost its spirit. She explained that initially, the show focused on the contestants' talent, but later, the producers started demanding 'constructed' moments.

Mathur, who is known for having hosted six seasons of Indian Idol, revealed in a podcast with Cyrus Broacha that she chose to leave the show because she was being asked to create moments between celebrity guests and contestants. She shared that she was very invested in every single person on the show. Mathur mentioned inviting contestants to her home for dinner and spending hours with them. However, she couldn't accept that the producers were urging her to create moments in the episodes.

Mathur stated that she "called it quits" when she realized that the reality was no longer authentic. She felt that after six seasons, it became about making money and that she "didn't appreciate that reality had become constructed". She also recalled an instance where producers asked her to "create" a moment between Hema Malini and Dharmendra. Furthermore, Mathur was told that a contestant should act surprised to see a relative, even though they were aware that the relative would appear on the show.

Mini Mathur hosted Indian Idol for six seasons and became a household name. However, she quit when she realized that the show had strayed from its original path. She noted that the show initially focused on the contestants' strengths, but later, the producers began demanding constructed moments.
