Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to distribute over 51,000 appointment letters to new recruits across various government departments and organizations today, July 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. This initiative is part of the 16th Rozgar Mela, which will be conducted at 47 locations throughout the country. The Prime Minister will address the new appointees via video conferencing, emphasizing the government's commitment to enhancing employment opportunities for the youth and fostering their participation in nation-building.
The Rozgar Mela underscores the government's commitment to according the highest priority to employment generation. Through this initiative, the government aims to provide meaningful opportunities to the youth, empowering them to contribute to the development of a self-reliant India.
In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi stated, "We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India. In this series, tomorrow, July 12, at 11 am, I will participate in another employment fair through video conferencing, where thousands of youths will be handed appointment letters".
Recruitments are being conducted across various central government ministries and departments. The new recruits are expected to join the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services, the Ministry of Labour & Employment, and other departments and ministries.
The Rozgar Mela serves as a platform that brings together employers and job seekers, facilitating a quick connection between them. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has stated that this employment approach aims to establish quick connections between job seekers and employers.
More than 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country. The Prime Minister's Office has stated that PM Modi will also address the newly appointed employees on this occasion.
The new recruits will also have the opportunity to undergo basic training through the online module Karmayogi Prarambh, which is available on the iGOT Karmayogi portal. This portal offers more than 1,400 e-learning courses designed to equip new employees with essential skills, helping them to perform effectively and contribute to building a developed India.
Since its inception in October 2022, the Rozgar Mela initiative has facilitated the offering of nearly 10 lakh permanent government jobs. During the 15th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held on April 26, 2025, Prime Minister Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted youth in various government departments and organisations. He also gave the newly appointed recruits a guiding mantra — “Nagarik Parmo Dharma” — urging them to adopt it as a lifelong principle.
