In Gurugram's DLF Phase 3 area, a 40-year-old scrap dealer named Harish Sharma was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner, 27-year-old Yashmeet Kaur, in the early hours of Saturday. The tragic incident occurred in a rented flat where the couple had been living for over a year.
According to police reports, the murder was triggered by a heated argument that arose after Kaur saw Sharma talking to his ailing wife. Sharma, a resident of Baliawas village, was married and had two daughters who lived with his wife. Despite living with Kaur, he maintained regular contact with his family, especially due to his wife's poor health, which reportedly infuriated Kaur.
The fatal altercation occurred when Kaur found Sharma speaking to his wife late at night. This led to a violent dispute, during which Kaur allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Sharma in the chest. Sharma was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Following the incident, police took Kaur, a resident of Delhi's Ashok Nagar, into custody. She has reportedly confessed to the crime, and authorities have recovered the murder weapon and a blood-stained T-shirt from the scene.
In addition to Kaur, the police are also investigating Vijay alias Sethi, a friend of the deceased who was reportedly present in another room during the incident. Sharma's nephew has filed a complaint alleging that Kaur and Vijay conspired in the murder. Kaur has been formally arrested, and the investigation is ongoing to determine Vijay's involvement, if any.
Police investigations indicate that Sharma's frequent communication with his wife was a major point of contention in his relationship with Kaur. Kaur's jealousy and resentment reportedly grew over time, leading to the fatal confrontation. The police are piecing together evidence and statements to understand the motive and sequence of events in this disturbing case.
The incident has raised concerns about the complexities and potential dangers in interpersonal relationships, especially when jealousy and mistrust escalate into violence. The police continue to probe the incident, gathering evidence and statements to build a comprehensive case.
