A tragic incident in Gurugram has resulted in the death of a 40-year-old man, allegedly stabbed by his live-in partner following a heated argument. The deceased has been identified as Harish Sharma, a resident of Baliawas village. The accused, Yashmeet Kaur, 27, has been arrested and has reportedly confessed to the crime.
According to reports, Harish was married and had two daughters who lived with his wife. He had been in a live-in relationship with Yashmeet Kaur for over a year, residing in a rented flat in the DLF Phase 3 area of Gurugram. The relationship was reportedly strained due to Harish's continued contact and visits to his wife and children, which often led to arguments between the couple.
The incident occurred on Saturday night when Yashmeet Kaur walked in on Harish conversing with his wife. This sparked a heated argument, and in a fit of rage, Kaur allegedly stabbed Harish in the chest with a kitchen knife. Harish was rushed to a local hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police investigations are underway. A police spokesperson stated that officers from the DLF Phase-3 police station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report from the hospital. Crime scene investigators recovered a knife and a blood-stained T-shirt from the flat in Sector 72. Yashmeet Kaur, a resident of Ashok Nagar, Delhi, has been taken into custody, and the murder weapon has been retrieved.
Adding another layer to the case, Harish's nephew, who also worked with him, has alleged that both Yashmeet Kaur and a man named Vijay alias Sethi may have planned the murder. According to the nephew's complaint, Vijay had visited Harish on August 1, and Harish had requested Rs 7 lakh from his family, which they provided. Later that night, Harish called his nephew requesting Rs 1,650 for food, which was sent via a phone payment. Vijay was reportedly present in another room when the stabbing occurred and is currently under investigation.
The nephew's complaint further states that Kaur informed him of Harish's death the following day. He also reported that Harish had a stab wound on his chest.
The police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations. The arrest in this case comes shortly after another incident in Sohna involving a fatal outcome in a live-in relationship.
