In recent remarks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that India has witnessed a transparent, sensitive, and citizen-centric governance model over the last 11 years. This statement comes as his government is working towards a holistic vision to rejuvenate infrastructure nationwide.
Infrastructure and Governance
Speaking at an event at Kartavya Path after inaugurating Kartavya Bhavan, the first of ten upcoming state-of-the-art Common Central Secretariat buildings, Modi stated that this project and other infrastructure initiatives symbolize India's global vision. He noted that the government's administrative machinery had been operating from British-era buildings for decades, characterized by poor working conditions, inadequate space, light, and ventilation. The new Kartavya Bhavan embodies the resolve to fulfill the nation's dreams and will guide the policies and direction of a developed India.
Commitment to 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'
Modi urged a collective effort to write the success story of 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat', emphasizing the need to scale up productivity for both individuals and the country. He stressed the importance of not leaving current problems for future generations to solve.
Economic and Social Transformation
Over the past 11 years, India has experienced significant economic and social transformation under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. India's GDP has more than tripled, and its export capacity has seen a substantial surge. Initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes have attracted significant investments and created numerous jobs across various sectors. The government has saved ₹5 lakh crore by cracking down on corruption. The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system has enabled the direct transfer of over ₹44 lakh crore to beneficiaries, eliminating middlemen.
Infrastructure has undergone massive upgrades, with significant growth in national highway length and the number of operational airports. There has been a substantial budgetary increase in agriculture, with rising Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for major crops. Furthermore, a considerable amount has been directly transferred to farmers under PM-KISAN.
Women have emerged as key stakeholders in this growth journey, with increased representation in STEMM enrollments and as MSME entrepreneurs. Self-help groups (SHGs) have also grown significantly, transforming grassroots leadership.
Global Stage and Green Initiatives
India's role on the global stage has evolved, with the country leading humanitarian missions to rescue citizens and deliver aid globally. The green revolution is evident in the rise in solar power capacity, the planting of trees, and the creation of new protected ecological areas. The National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to position India as a global clean energy hub.
Transparent and Accountable Governance
Prime Minister Modi believes that transparency and accountability are the cornerstones of a pro-people government. The government has saved billions by eliminating fake job cards, LPG connections, and ration cards, thereby breaking the backbone of middlemen and leakages. This reflects the government's clean intentions, bold decisions, and unwavering dedication to the people.
