A horrific incident of animal cruelty has surfaced in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, sparking outrage among animal rights advocates and local residents. Two men are accused of shooting and killing over 25 stray dogs in Kumawas village over a two-day period, on August 2 and 3. The gruesome act was captured on video, which later went viral on social media, prompting swift action from the authorities.

The disturbing video footage shows two individuals riding a motorcycle, chasing down and firing at stray dogs with a gun. The slain animals were left scattered across village streets and fields. Another person on a second motorcycle is seen trailing behind the duo, seemingly filming the heinous crime. It remains unclear whether this individual was complicit in the killings or merely a bystander.

The incident came to light on Wednesday after the video surfaced online, igniting fury among animal activists and local residents who are demanding strict action against the perpetrators. Preliminary investigations have identified one of the accused as Shyochand Bavariya, a resident of Dumra village. Police have registered a case against Bavariya under multiple sections of the Animal Cruelty Act and the Arms Act.

Superintendent of Police, Jhunjhunu, Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay, confirmed the authenticity of the video and dispatched Head Constable Shubhkaran to the village for further investigation. "We are aware of the video showing a person shooting at dogs in Kumawas village. Immediate steps were taken to investigate the matter," Upadhyay stated. While the accused remains at large, police are actively pursuing his arrest and investigating the potential involvement of other locals.

The incident has been widely condemned by animal lovers and villagers, who are calling for swift and stringent action against those responsible. The graphic footage of blood-soaked dog bodies scattered across the village has fueled anger and grief within the community. This act of brutality has shaken the region, highlighting the urgent need for stricter enforcement of animal protection laws and increased awareness about animal welfare.
