Mohun Bagan Super Giant secured their place in the Durand Cup 2025 quarter-finals with a dominant 5-1 victory over Diamond Harbour FC (DHFC) in a Group B match held at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday.

The Mariners displayed an impressive attacking performance, with Anirudh Thapa opening the scoring early in the match. Diamond Harbour responded quickly, with Luka Majcen leveling the score. However, Mohun Bagan quickly regained control. Jamie Maclaren capitalized on a defensive error from Diamond Harbour to restore Mohun Bagan's lead.

The second half saw a complete collapse of the Diamond Harbour defense as Mohun Bagan continued to find the net. Liston Colaco converted a penalty to further extend the lead. Jason Cummings added to Diamond Harbour's woes with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box. Sahal Abdul Samad also joined the scoresheet, completing the five-star performance for the Mariners.

With both teams tied on six points heading into their final Group B match, Diamond Harbour held a slight advantage on goal difference. Mohun Bagan needed a win to guarantee their spot in the quarter-finals, and they delivered a resounding performance.

The match was broadcasted live on Sony TEN 2 and Sony TEN 2 HD TV channels in India.
