Faissal Khan, brother of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, has recently spoken about his relationship with his brother, revealing that Aamir provides him with a monthly allowance to support him financially. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Faissal shared details about his life, career struggles, and complex relationship with his family.
Faissal's career in Bollywood faced significant hurdles after the film "Mela," which was intended to relaunch him, failed at the box office. He mentioned that after "Madhosh," he critically assessed himself and decided to start again. He took acting lessons, practiced singing, and learned to dance and fight to improve his skills. He acknowledged that the production of "Madhosh" faced delays due to disagreements between Aamir and the director.
In the interview, Faissal recounted a particularly difficult period when he was confined to Aamir's house for a year and given medication against his will. He and his family believed he was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, which led to the situation. Faissal described feeling trapped and helpless, alleging that Aamir took control of his financial and legal decisions during this time. He stated that the forced medication caused him to gain a significant amount of weight, reaching 103 kgs, and had other harmful effects on his health.
Despite these past controversies, Faissal acknowledged Aamir's support in helping him secure work after he moved out and started living independently. He also praised Aamir's generosity, work ethic, and dedication. He stated that Aamir is a kind-hearted person who has done a lot for many people. Faissal mentioned enjoying Aamir's latest film, "Sitaare Zameen Par".
Faissal also expressed his disappointment at not being invited to a family appearance on "The Kapil Sharma Show". He felt excluded and speculated that Aamir might have avoided inviting him to prevent contradicting previous statements about his mental health. Despite this, Faissal expressed his desire for a better relationship with Aamir, believing that his brother ultimately wants good things for him.
Faissal believes that interference from extended family members contributed to the strained relationship between him and Aamir. He suggested that some relatives might not have liked their closeness and tried to create a divide between them. He claimed that Aamir had been "brainwashed" by certain family members and close friends over the years.
Faissal also recounted his attempts to reconcile with Aamir during a period of strained relations, seeking help from industry figures like Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra, but he received no response. He alleged that some family members worsened their rift and that many in the industry believed Aamir's portrayal of him as mentally unstable. He also claimed his family secretly added medicines to his food and water, causing excessive drowsiness, and feared he could die from an overdose. Faissal mentioned that the court ruled he was mentally fit to live independently.
