Baramulla has been witnessing heightened patriotic fervor as Independence Day 2025 approaches, with a grand Tiranga Yatra drawing massive participation from its residents. More than 12,000 citizens from all walks of life joined the Tiranga Rally in the heart of the town, carrying a 2.5-kilometer-long tricolor.

The rally commenced from the historic Saint Joseph School Baramulla, where thousands of enthusiastic participants carrying the national flag, chanting slogans, and singing patriotic songs, honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and fallen heroes who gave their lives for the nation's independence. Jointly led by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurinderpal Singh, the rally witnessed the participation of ADC Baramulla Syed Altaf Hussain Mausvi, other officers from the civil administration, army and police officers, officials from various departments, students, and local residents, coming together to create an unforgettable display of unity and patriotic spirit.

After passing through the heart of Baramulla town, the rally culminated at Showkat Ali Stadium, where various government departments had set up exhibition stalls and a vibrant cultural program was presented by students from various schools, celebrating the spirit of patriotism. The DC extended heartfelt gratitude to each participant, emphasizing that their collective presence not only added vibrancy and grandeur to the celebration but also reflected the deep-rooted patriotism and unity that define the spirit of Baramulla.

In addition to the main event in Baramulla, other areas in the region have also held Tiranga rallies. A major rally was held in Uri's Bandi Town in the Baramulla district, led by BJP General Secretary (Organization) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Shri Ashok Koul. A mega Tiranga Rally was also organized in Drugmulla, led by Syed Bashrat Rasool, Tehsildar Drugmulla, accompanied by officers and officials of various departments, and students of Girls High School Drugmulla. The rally started from Girls High School Drugmulla and moved ahead with spirited participation from officers/officials of various departments, local residents, and enthusiastic students. The tricolour fluttered high as patriotic slogans echoed through the streets, creating a vibrant atmosphere of unity and pride. The primary aim of the rally was to keep the spirit of patriotism alive, instill pride for the motherland among the youth, and send out a strong message of unity and patriotism across the community.

These events are part of a broader campaign to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag and celebrate India's independence. Tiranga rallies have been organized across Jammu and Kashmir by various groups, including the BJP, schools, colleges, government departments, and socio-political organizations. The "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign aims to instill a deep sense of patriotism and unity among Indians, encouraging every household to hoist the Tricolour as a symbol of national pride.

The enthusiastic participation in these Tiranga Yatras and rallies demonstrates a significant change in the region.
