In a shocking incident in Varanasi, a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering the 10-year-old son of his lover after the boy witnessed them in a compromising situation. The accused, identified as Faizan, reportedly strangled the child with the help of his friend, Rashid.

According to police reports, the crime occurred after the boy saw Faizan with his mother, with whom he was having an affair. Fearing that the boy would reveal their relationship, Faizan and Rashid allegedly took the child to a secluded field in the Bawan Bigha area on Monday night and killed him. They then hid the body.

The incident came to light when the boy's mother filed a missing person report with the Ramnagar police after her son did not return home. During the investigation, the police discovered the illicit relationship between the woman and Faizan. Faizan and Rashid were apprehended with the help of a surveillance team. During interrogation, both confessed to their crime in the presence of ADCP Kashi zone T Saravanan and ACP Kotwali Pragya Pathak.

Following the confession, Faizan was taken to the crime scene to recover the body. While there, he allegedly attempted to escape by snatching a pistol from a policeman. However, the police foiled his attempt, and in the ensuing exchange of fire, Faizan sustained a bullet injury to his leg. He is currently in the hospital under police custody.

DCP Kashi zone Gaurav Banswal stated that the police received the missing complaint on Monday evening and that the investigation revealed the mother's affair with Faizan, leading to his arrest. The police are continuing to investigate the matter.
