As part of their promotional tour for the upcoming film "Param Sundari," Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra were spotted enjoying local chaat in Lucknow. The duo, who star in the cross-cultural romance, are currently on a promotional spree, making appearances at various events and locations.
Janhvi has been turning heads with her fashion choices during the promotions. For a Dahi Handi event, she wore a golden-white lehenga by Anita Dongre, accessorized with golden kundan earrings and a flower-adorned braid. Earlier, she graced the spotlight in a soft pink floral jaal saree, paired with a pink bralette blouse.
The promotions haven't been without their challenges. Janhvi faced online criticism for chanting "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" at a Dahi Handi event. Additionally, a Christian group has demanded the removal of a "flirty" church scene from the film, trailer, and promotional videos, claiming it disrespects the sanctity of the religious place. The group has written to the CBFC, Mumbai Police, and other authorities, threatening public protests if the scene is not removed.
Despite the controversies, Janhvi remains enthusiastic about the film. At a Dahi Handi celebration in Mumbai, she addressed the crowd in Marathi and even broke the handi with a coconut. However, things got chaotic as she exited the venue, with the crowd mobbing her.
"Param Sundari" is directed by Tushar Jalota and also stars Sanjay Kapoor and Manjot Singh. The film is slated for release on August 29, 2025.
