Anantapur Urban MLA Daggupati Venkateswara Prasad of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has denied allegations that he abused actor Jr NTR in a recently circulated audio clip. The audio, which went viral on social media, purportedly featured Prasad using inappropriate language against the actor, causing outrage among Jr NTR's fans.
Daggupati Prasad has vehemently refuted the claims, stating that the audio is fake and part of a political conspiracy to defame him. He clarified that he holds the Nara and Nandamuri families, including Jr NTR, in high regard and would never speak ill of the actor. He also stated that he respects Jr NTR.
The controversy arose when an audio clip circulated online, allegedly containing derogatory remarks made by Prasad against Jr NTR. According to reports, the audio surfaced around the time of the release of Jr NTR's "War 2". It is reported that Anantapur TNSF president Guttha Dhanunjaya Naidu invited the MLA to the movie. The audio sparked immediate backlash from Jr NTR's fan base, with many expressing their anger and demanding an apology from the MLA.
In response to the uproar, Daggupati Prasad issued a statement denying the authenticity of the audio clip. He claimed that his political rivals fabricated the audio to tarnish his reputation. He has already filed a complaint with the district Superintendent of Police (SP) and requested that strong action be taken against those creating and spreading the fake audio and video. He urged the public not to believe such false propaganda.
Adding to this, Prasad stated that he has great affection for the Nara and Nandamuri families and that he would never speak negatively about Jr NTR. He also apologized to Jr NTR's fans if they were hurt by the misunderstanding.
Despite Prasad's denial and apology, some fans reportedly protested outside the MLA's office in Anantapur, demanding a public apology in front of the media. Police intervened to control the situation.
