On August 19, 2025, Sitara took to her official Instagram account to alert her fans, family, and well-wishers about the existence of these fraudulent profiles.
In her statement, Sitara clarified that she is only active on Instagram and that any other accounts claiming to be her are false. She urged her followers to be cautious and avoid engaging with these fake profiles. "It has come to my notice that several fake and spam accounts are being created under my name," Sitara wrote. "I would like to clarify to all my friends, family, and well wishers that I am only active on Instagram. This is my only official account and the only medium through which I connect. I am not present on any other social media platforms. Please be cautious and avoid engaging with any other accounts claiming to be me".
This is not the first time that Mahesh Babu and his family have had to address the issue of fake social media accounts in Sitara's name. Last year, Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, also cautioned fans about impersonators. Namrata shared an official statement on Instagram, stating that authorities were investigating the cybercrime and assured that the person impersonating Sitara would be apprehended. The Madhapur police, in connection with Team GMB, issued a warning about a cybercrime incident involving the impersonation of Sitara Ghattamaneni on Instagram. It was revealed that an unidentified user had been fraudulently posing as Sitara, sending trading and investment links to unsuspecting users. The public was advised to verify the authenticity of celebrity accounts before engaging with any financial advice online and to report any suspicious activity.
It is common for children of celebrities to attract attention, both positive and negative. Sitara's warning highlights the need for vigilance on social media, especially concerning impersonation and potential scams. Fake accounts are often used to extract money or spread misleading content, which could damage Sitara's reputation.
