In response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, India has launched strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The Indian Armed Forces initiated "Operation Sindoor," targeting nine terrorist sites across the region.

The strikes were described as focused, measured, and non-escalatory, with no Pakistani military facilities targeted. The Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) stated that the operation aimed at terrorist infrastructure from where attacks against India were being planned and directed. Tensions between India and Pakistan have heightened following the Pahalgam attack, which targeted Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir. This was reported as the worst assault on civilians in India in nearly two decades. The Indian government has expressed its firm commitment to holding those responsible for the attack accountable.
