A couple from Hyderabad has been arrested for allegedly live-streaming their sexual acts online in exchange for money. The Hyderabad police's Task Force apprehended the 41-year-old man and his 37-year-old wife, residents of Amberpet, following a tip-off.

According to authorities, the couple was broadcasting their intimate activities via a mobile application, charging viewers for access. Reports indicate that they had been operating this scheme for the past four months, using the pseudonym "Sweety Telugu Couple 2027" on some platforms. They allegedly charged ₹2,000 for live-streaming access and ₹500 for recorded video links.

The couple had converted a section of their terrace into a makeshift studio, complete with curtains to conceal the space. During the raid, police seized several items, including high-definition cameras, tripods, and mobile phones, which were used to record and broadcast the content. They also recovered notebooks containing payment details, confirming the financial transactions.

The couple confessed to engaging in the activity to alleviate financial difficulties. The man, who previously worked as a car driver, and his wife, a homemaker, have two college-going daughters who were reportedly unaware of their parents' activities.

Police have registered a case against the couple under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to obscenity in a public place, and Section 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, which criminalizes the electronic transmission of sexually explicit material.

The arrest has sparked concern about the exploitation of digital platforms for illicit activities and the potential impact on society. Authorities are conducting further investigations to trace the buyers of the content and dismantle the network involved in this illegal operation. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible online behavior and the need for stricter regulations to prevent the misuse of technology for illegal and unethical purposes.
