An Air India flight AI2744, en route from Kochi to Mumbai, experienced a runway excursion while landing at Mumbai Airport on Monday, July 21, 2025. The incident occurred amidst heavy rainfall in the city.

The aircraft, an Airbus A320neo with registration VT-TYA, veered off the runway shortly after touchdown. Promptly, the aircraft returned to the taxiway. Despite the runway excursion, the aircraft was safely taxied to the parking bay, ensuring all passengers and crew could disembark without any injuries.

Following the incident, Mumbai Airport issued a travel advisory. The primary runway was temporarily closed for inspection, and the secondary runway was utilized for flight operations. The aircraft involved has been grounded for a thorough inspection to ensure all safety parameters are met before it is returned to service.
