"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle" is already making waves, surpassing records previously held by other anime blockbusters and even challenging established animated films like "Frozen II". The highly anticipated first installment of the final "Demon Slayer" trilogy, formally titled "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns," is set to release in the United States on September 12, 2025.

The movie's presale success is a testament to the "Demon Slayer" franchise's immense popularity and the anime community's power. Fandango has announced that "Infinity Castle" has become the best first-day ticket preseller for an anime film of all time on their platform. It has surpassed the previous benchmarks set by "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train" (2021) and "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" (2022). Jerramy Hainline, EVP of Fandango, expressed being "blown away by the sheer excitement" for the film's arrival, highlighting the overwhelming response from fans. Industry sources estimate that combined advance ticket sales from major US circuits like AMC, Regal, and Cinemark are nearing $10 million.

Internationally, "Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" has also achieved significant milestones. The film was released in Japan on July 18, 2025, and has grossed approximately $200 million domestically in just 31 days. It has become the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Japan and the fourth highest-grossing film in the country's history. In eight Southeast Asian markets, "Infinity Castle" earned an initial total of $17.5 million, outperforming even "Frozen II" as the highest-grossing animated film in the area. Specifically in Japan, "Infinity Castle" has surpassed "Frozen" amassing ¥25.75 billion compared to Frozen's ¥25.50 billion.

"Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" is directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by Ufotable. The English dub cast includes Channing Tatum and Rebecca Wang. The film will be released in both subtitled and English-dubbed formats. Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan subscribers will have the opportunity to attend special early IMAX screenings on September 9. Over 250 theaters in the U.S. will host these limited screenings before the general release.

The film's synopsis reveals that Tanjiro and the Hashira are plunged into the Infinity Castle, a sprawling demonic stronghold, setting the stage for the climactic battle against Muzan Kibutsuji. The Demon Slayer Corps will face off against the remaining members of the Twelve Kizuki. This cinematic movie represents the final arc and culmination of the award-winning anime series.
