A security breach occurred at the Parliament House on Friday morning when a man entered the premises by scaling a wall. The incident took place around 6:30 am. Security personnel apprehended the intruder, and he is currently being questioned.

The intruder reportedly used a tree to climb the boundary wall. He then jumped over the wall from the Rail Bhavan side and reached the Garuda gate of the new Parliament building. Security personnel swiftly responded and detained the individual before he could proceed further.

The suspect is being interrogated to determine his identity, intentions, and how he managed to breach security. Sources indicate that the intruder is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and works at a shop in Gujarat. At the time of his detention, he appeared mentally disturbed. During questioning, he told officials that he was planning to go home and had gone to the railway station but couldn't board a train, after which he went to Parliament.

The incident has prompted a full-scale review of security protocols. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and inspecting possible lapses in surveillance and response systems.

This breach occurred a day after the monsoon session of Parliament concluded. No Members of Parliament were present at the time of the security breach.

In December 2023, a similar security incident occurred when two individuals jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors' gallery, shouting slogans and releasing yellow smoke from canisters. The individuals were overpowered and detained by MPs and security staff.

The 2023 incident prompted a comprehensive review of security measures at the Parliament. The recent breach raises concerns about the effectiveness of these measures and the need for further improvements.
