Deepak Kothari, a Mumbai businessman, has filed a fraud case against the couple, alleging that they misused investment funds between 2015 and 2023 for personal expenses instead of business purposes. Kothari claims the couple defrauded him of more than ₹60 crore through the now-defunct company Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.

Shilpa Shetty co-owned Bastian Bandra with Ranjit Bindra. The restaurant first opened in 2016 and was relocated and reopened in Bandra in 2023. Bastian was known for its artistic decor and was a favorite hotspot for many celebrities.
