The Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer, "Param Sundari," has made a significant mark at the box office, crossing the ₹50 crore mark worldwide in its first six days. The romantic comedy, directed by Tushar Jalota, witnessed a mid-week slowdown after a strong opening weekend.
India Box Office Performance
In India, "Param Sundari" had a strong opening weekend, earning ₹7.25 crore on Friday, followed by a 27.59% jump on Saturday with ₹9.25 crore, and peaking on Sunday with ₹10.25 crore, a further 10.81% increase. However, collections dipped significantly on Monday, dropping 68.29% to ₹3.25 crore. Tuesday saw a slight recovery with ₹4.25 crore, marking a 30.77% rise.
According to Sacnilk, the film witnessed a 32.94% dip in its Wednesday earnings, minting ₹2.85 crore on Day 6. This dip came after the movie's unexpected 30% growth in Tuesday's earnings, collecting ₹4.25 crore. The movie's India nett total now stands at around ₹37.10 crore. With this, the 6-day total for the movie stands at ₹37.1 crore. "Param Sundari," reportedly made on a budget of ₹50 crore, is now very close to achieving the ₹40 crore milestone.
Gross earnings in India are estimated at ₹41.1 crore.
Worldwide Box Office Performance
The film has grossed over Rs 50 crore worldwide in its first six days. At the worldwide box office, the gross collection of "Param Sundari" surges to ₹55.70 crores. In only 5 days, the romantic comedy has emerged as Sidharth Malhotra's 8th highest-grossing film globally. Overseas markets have contributed around ₹13.9 crore. According to Sacnilk, "Param Sundari" made ₹34.25 crore net in India in five days and adding to that the ₹13.90 crore collection from overseas, the film has made ₹55 crore worldwide within a week.
Overall
"Param Sundari" has surpassed Sidharth Malhotra's previous film, "Yodha," which had a lifetime collection of ₹53.5 crore. The film has also exceeded Janhvi Kapoor's "Mr and Mrs Mahi," which collected ₹51.95 crore.
Audience Turnout
Chennai (14.25%) and Bengaluru (13.75%) recorded the strongest audience turnout. The film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 8.68% on Wednesday, reflecting a mid-week slowdown after a promising start.
While "Param Sundari's" visuals have been well received, its storytelling has garnered mixed responses, though the music has been well-received. The film faces competition from "Baaghi 4," which is releasing soon.
Janhvi Kapoor is now preparing for "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari" with Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan. "Param Sundari" has emerged as her fourth biggest Hindi grosser at the box office, securing its position behind "Dhadak", "Devara – Part 1", and "Mr. & Mrs. Mahi" in Janhvi's filmography.
