Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has offered insights into the runtime of his upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas. Vanga, known for his intense and lengthy films like Arjun Reddy and Animal, has indicated that Spirit will be comparatively shorter.

During an appearance on the Telugu talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa, hosted by Jagapathi Babu, Vanga responded to a question about the film's expected runtime by humorously stating, "I'll make sure the runtime doesn't exceed 3 hours, sir". This remark references his previous movie, Animal, which had a runtime exceeding three hours. If Vanga sticks to this promise, Spirit may be his shortest film to date, potentially even shorter than Kabir Singh, which clocked in at 2 hours and 52 minutes.

Spirit is an anticipated cop action drama featuring Prabhas as a determined and angry young officer intent on dismantling an underworld syndicate. Triptii Dimri will star as the female lead, reuniting with Vanga after Animal.

Vanga also shared his approach to the film's music, revealing that 70% of the background music (BGM) is already complete. He explained that having the BGM ready before filming commences makes the shooting process easier, allowing the team to identify the right moments for cuts. Vanga stated that he learned the importance of pre-production BGM during Kabir Singh. For Animal, 80% of the BGM was completed before shooting, and he anticipates saving five to six days of production time using this method on Spirit.

Vanga has praised Prabhas for his transparency and easy-going nature, despite his superstar status. Shooting for Spirit is expected to begin soon. It is expected to be released by late 2026 in multiple Indian and international languages.

In preparation for the role in Spirit, Prabhas is expected to sport a new look and lose weight to appear younger. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Vanga's Bhadrakali Pictures.

Meanwhile, Prabhas is also anticipating the release of The Raja Saab, a horror-comedy film. The Raja Saab was initially slated for release on December 5, 2025, but it is reported to be postponed to Sankranti 2026.

Spirit was announced back in August 2022 and is finally set to begin production this year. Shooting is slated to commence in September 2025, with Prabhas joining the team in November.
