Ayodhya Ramlila's global appeal: 620 million viewers from 50 nations set a new record.

Ayodhya's Ramlila has achieved a new milestone, becoming the world's largest and grandest cultural festival, attracting over 62 crore spectators from 50 countries. This digital revolution has transformed the event into a global phenomenon, extending its reach far beyond India.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Ramlila was broadcast in more than 50 countries, featuring 250 film artists and modern technology. The Uttar Pradesh government played a significant role in facilitating this achievement. When the Ramlila started in 2020, the then Tourism and Culture Minister Neelkanth Tiwari inaugurated the event, with Chief Minister Adityanath paving the way for it to reach a global audience.

The digital expansion has led to exponential growth in viewership since 2020, solidifying the event's international prominence. Last year, over 45 crore viewers watched the event through live telecast. Just three days into the seventh edition, the online viewership has already surpassed 50 crore. With this momentum, organizers anticipate reaching over a billion viewers.

The Ramlila is being broadcast on various online platforms, including Aradhana Tata Play, Shemaroo YouTube channel, Voot, Airtel, Shemaroo YouTube Bhakti channel, Facebook page, Tata Play, Videocon, and Dish TV.

Subhash Malik and Shubham Malik, the founders of the Ramlila Samiti, have been instrumental in making the event a symbol of the digital revolution. According to Subhash Malik, who is also the president of Ayodhya's Ramlila, this achievement is a testament to the greatness of Lord Ram and his story.

The Ramlila commenced at the iconic Ram Katha Park with scenes depicting the birth of Lord Ram. The cast includes renowned actors such as Vindu Dara Singh, who portrays Lord Shiva, Avtar Gill as Narad Muni, and Sonam Tiwari as Goddess Parvati. Episodes include Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati listening to the story of Lord Ram, Kamdev breaking Narad's meditation, and Lord Vishnu receiving a curse.

Adding to the communal harmony, a Ramlila in Ayodhya's Mumtaz Nagar, a Muslim-dominated locality, has been organized for over 62 years by the local Muslim community. The committee was formed in 1963 to promote communal harmony. Muslim youths enact most of the Ramayana characters, except for Ram, Sita, and Lakshman. Members of the Muslim community also play the roles of Ravan, members of Ravan Sena, and sadhus.
