Tragic Loss: Indian Student Killed in US Gas Station Shooting, Highlighting Safety Concerns.

A 27-year-old Indian student, Chandrashekar Pole from Hyderabad, was fatally shot in Dallas, Texas, while working a part-time job at a gas station. The incident occurred on the night of October 3, 2025, when an unidentified gunman killed Pole.

Pole was pursuing his studies in the U.S. and working to support himself. The local police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

This is not an isolated incident. In December 2024, Sai Teja Nukarapu, a 22-year-old Indian student from Telangana, was shot and killed at a gas station near Chicago. Nukarapu was pursuing his MBA at Concordia University and working part-time. In January 2025, Ravi Teja, 26, from Hyderabad, was shot dead at a gas station in Washington D.C.. He had gone to the U.S. in 2022 to pursue his master's degree and was looking for a job at the time of the incident.

These incidents have raised concerns regarding the safety of Indian students in the United States. Many Indian students travel to the U.S. to pursue higher education, and these tragedies have sparked worries about their security while studying abroad.

The Consulate General of India in Chicago has demanded immediate action against the culprits in the previous incidents and has offered assistance to the victims' families.
