The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reactivated the List of Candidates (LOC) submission portal for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2026. This decision comes after the initial deadline passed, and a number of schools failed to submit their LOCs despite repeated reminders from the board.
The reopening of the portal aims to address the concerns of schools that missed the original registration deadline, ensuring that all eligible students can register for the 2026 board exams. The board has specified that this is the final opportunity for schools to submit their LOCs. Failure to comply will result in students being ineligible to appear for the 2026 board examinations.
As per the official notice, principals who have yet to submit their LOCs must ensure that the process is completed within the newly prescribed timeframe, which includes late fees. The deadline for submissions with late fees via challan is October 8, 2025, while other payment methods will be accepted until October 11, 2025. The board has stated that no further extensions will be granted.
Schools that fail to submit their LOCs by the final deadline will bear full responsibility for the non-compliance and any resulting consequences, including the ineligibility of their candidates to appear for the Board Examinations 2026.
The CBSE has already released the tentative date sheets for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. According to the schedule, the Class 10 exams are expected to be held between February 15 and March 9, 2026, while the Class 12 exams are scheduled to take place between February 17 and April 9, 2026. Approximately 45 lakh students are expected to appear for the exams.
Heads of schools can submit the LOC forms through the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in. This extension with a late fee is a crucial opportunity for schools to ensure all their students are registered for the upcoming board exams.
