Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent Diwali greetings to the nation, urging citizens to embrace "Swadeshi" products, respect all languages, and contribute to a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India). In his message, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of Diwali as a festival of light, hope, and harmony.
In a letter addressed to the citizens, PM Modi extended his heartfelt greetings, emphasizing the festival's energy and enthusiasm. He reflected on India's progress, unity, and resilience, urging citizens to contribute to building an "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" (self-reliant India). He underscored the importance of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" (One India, Great India) and called for respecting all languages.
PM Modi highlighted the deeper meaning of Diwali, connecting it to the teachings of Lord Shri Ram, who embodies righteousness and the courage to fight injustice. He cited "Operation Sindoor" as a recent example where India upheld righteousness and avenged injustice.
The Prime Minister noted that this Diwali is particularly special as lamps will be lit for the first time in many districts, including remote areas, where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been eradicated. He acknowledged individuals who have abandoned violence and joined the mainstream, expressing faith in the Constitution.
PM Modi has also called upon citizens to celebrate the hard work, creativity, and innovation of 140 crore Indians by buying "Swadeshi" products. He encouraged people to share their purchases on social media to inspire others to do the same and to proudly proclaim, "Garv Se Kaho Yeh Swadeshi Hai!" (Say with pride, this is Swadeshi!). This appeal aligns with the nationwide movement to boost local industries and artisans, reinforcing self-reliance and economic empowerment. MyGovIndia has launched a campaign titled “Celebrate Diwali and Empower Swadeshi,” inviting citizens to pledge to buy only Swadeshi products this festive season.
In his message, PM Modi also touched upon the economic strides made by the nation. He mentioned the implementation of lower GST rates and the resulting savings for citizens during the "GST Bachat Utsav" (Savings Festival). He stated that amidst global uncertainties, India has emerged as a symbol of stability and sensitivity and is on track to become the third-largest economy in the world.
PM Modi urged citizens to maintain cleanliness, prioritize their health, reduce oil consumption by 10%, and embrace Yoga. He emphasized that these efforts would contribute to a "Viksit Bharat". He emphasized the importance of harmony, cooperation, and positivity in society.
President Droupadi Murmu also extended Diwali greetings, echoing the message of mutual affection and brotherhood. She urged everyone to support the deprived and needy and celebrate the festival safely and in an environment-friendly manner, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
