US Assistance Offered in Delhi Blast Investigation; Rubio Praises Indian Investigators' Competence and Progress.

In the wake of the deadly explosion near Delhi's Red Fort on November 10, 2025, the United States has offered to assist India in the ongoing investigation. However, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has commended the professionalism and capability of Indian investigators, expressing confidence in their handling of the situation.

Secretary Rubio, speaking to reporters in Canada after a G7 foreign ministers' meeting, stated that while the U.S. had offered support, he believes Indian authorities are "very capable" and "doing a good job". He added, "They don't need our help," underscoring his confidence in India's investigative abilities. Rubio also characterized the Delhi blast as a "terrorist attack".

The explosion, which claimed the lives of 12 people and injured dozens, has prompted a large-scale investigation by Indian security agencies. Forensic teams and counterterrorism units are meticulously examining evidence to determine the motive and identify those responsible. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe, indicating the government's view of the incident as an act of terror.

The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi has also conveyed its solidarity, with Ambassador Sergio Gor expressing condolences to the victims' families and wishing a swift recovery to the injured. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Secretary Rubio discussed the blast, among other bilateral and global issues, during a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting. Jaishankar acknowledged and appreciated Rubio's condolences for the lives lost in the Delhi explosion.

Indian authorities are investigating the blast under a stringent anti-terrorism law, exploring all possible angles. While no arrests have been made in connection with the explosion, investigations are focusing on potential links between the blast and the previous arrest of a group of seven men from the Kashmir region who were found to be in possession of arms and bomb-making materials.

Amid the investigation, Kashmir police have conducted raids at numerous locations in the region, detaining and questioning hundreds of individuals. The investigation has revealed a potential "white-collar terror ecosystem" involving radicalized professionals and students allegedly in contact with foreign handlers operating from Pakistan and other countries. These individuals are purportedly linked to Pakistan-based militant groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammad and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

The Indian Cabinet has strongly condemned the incident as a "heinous terror incident" perpetrated by "anti-national forces". The Cabinet has directed that the investigation be pursued with utmost urgency and professionalism to ensure that the perpetrators, collaborators, and sponsors are brought to justice swiftly.
