The investigation into the Delhi car bombing of November 10th, 2025, which killed 15 and injured over 20 near the Red Fort, has intensified, with a significant focus on a network of hideouts located in Faridabad, near Al-Falah University. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is leading the probe, uncovering a complex web of individuals and locations allegedly linked to the terror plot.
The investigation gained momentum with the arrest of Sohaib, a Faridabad resident and compounder at Al-Falah University, accused of providing shelter and logistical support to the suspected bomber, Umar un Nabi. Sohaib allegedly helped Umar un Nabi, a Pulwama resident and doctor, secure a rented room in Hidayat Colony of Nuh, where he remained hidden for 10 days before the Delhi explosion. Umar un Nabi, who worked at Al-Falah University, is believed to have been driving the car that exploded. DNA analysis of remains found in the vehicle confirmed Umar as one of the occupants.
Further investigation led to the discovery of multiple hideouts connected to Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie, an Al-Falah University professor suspected of making explosives intended for use as IEDs in cars. Ganaie allegedly stored 2,600 kg of ammonium nitrate in a shed behind a mosque near the Al-Falah University campus for nearly two weeks. Concerns about theft prompted Ganaie to move the explosives to the residence of a cleric, Mohd Istaq, in Fatehpur Taga, where they were seized just before the Delhi blast. Investigators also identified a three-room house in Khori Jamalpur, rented by Ganaie in July, located above a plastic raw materials unit.
The NIA is exploring potential links between the terror module and Jaish-e-Mohammed, investigating a "white-collar terror ecosystem". The agency is also looking into possible connections to handlers in Pakistan and Turkey. Earlier, authorities arrested two other doctors from Al-Falah University, Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie and Dr. Shahin Shaheed, for their alleged involvement in the terror plot.
In connection with the case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, chairman of Al Falah Group, on money-laundering charges related to the Al Falah Charitable Trust. The ED's investigation revealed the alleged generation of "large amounts of proceeds of crime" and the diversion of crores of rupees to family-owned entities. The ED also conducted searches at 19 locations, including Al-Falah University, seizing over ₹48 lakh in cash, digital devices, and documentary evidence.
The Al-Falah University has come under increased scrutiny following these revelations. The university's website was taken down after a notice from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Police have also registered two FIRs against the university for forgery and cheating.
The NIA is conducting coordinated searches across several states, working with local police forces to identify and apprehend other individuals linked to the attack. The agency aims to dismantle the entire conspiracy behind the bombing.
