PM Emphasizes Delivery Over Drama in Parliament, Suggesting Tips for the Opposition on Effective Governance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on the opposition to prioritize "delivery over drama" in the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament. Addressing the media on Monday, December 1, 2025, ahead of the session's commencement, Modi urged all political parties to focus on constructive policy discussions and outcomes rather than engaging in disruptive tactics.

Modi emphasized the importance of responsible and balanced parliamentary conduct, with a focus on national progress. He suggested that parliamentary proceedings should be driven by policies and results, not by slogans or theatrics. Taking a dig at the opposition, Modi said that he is even willing to give them tips on how to improve their performance after their recent defeat in the Bihar elections. He advised them to revamp their strategies and learn from their electoral setbacks. He also cautioned his own alliance against arrogance following their victory.

The Prime Minister highlighted the strength of India's democratic traditions, pointing to the high voter turnout in the Bihar elections as a testament to the country's robust democratic spirit. He particularly noted the increasing participation of women in the electoral process, which he said was creating new hope and confidence. Modi asserted that India has proven that democracy can deliver results.

Modi acknowledged that the Winter Session should not be a battleground for frustration over electoral defeats or a stage for arrogance after victories. He expressed concern that first-time and young Members of Parliament (MPs) were not getting sufficient opportunities to raise their issues in the House. He urged the opposition to move past their election-related sadness and concentrate on raising issues that will benefit the public.

The Prime Minister also conveyed the government's commitment to undertaking further economic reforms during the Winter Session, building on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms. He expressed hope that the session would contribute to strengthening both democracy and the economy. The Winter Session of Parliament is scheduled to run from December 1 to December 19.
