Ex-Gryphon Leaders Take Helm at Trump Media and Crypto.com Treasury Firm: A New Chapter Begins.

Two former executives from Gryphon Digital Mining are poised to take the helm of a new digital asset treasury company, formed through a business combination involving Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) and Crypto.com. Steve Gutterman has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer, while Sim Salzman will serve as the Chief Financial Officer of Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, Inc. This new entity will focus on acquiring CRO, the native cryptocurrency token of the Cronos ecosystem.

The appointments come as Yorkville Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: MCGA), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), moves closer to completing its business combination with TMTG and Crypto.com. The merger, initially announced on August 26, 2025, is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval and shareholder consent. Upon completion, Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, Inc. will be listed on Nasdaq under the ticker MCGA.

Gutterman brings decades of experience in leading high-growth businesses, including start-ups and multi-billion-dollar corporations. His background includes public listings, turnarounds, and over 40 acquisitions and dispositions, with capital raises totaling over $2 billion. Before this new role, Gutterman served as the CEO of Gryphon Digital Mining, where he led the company's turnaround and facilitated its sale to American Bitcoin. He also held executive positions at ETRADE Financial Corporation, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ETRADE Bank.

Salzman has extensive experience in senior financial roles across various companies, including Marathon Digital Holdings, Las Vegas Monorail Company, and Corner Bar Management. Most recently, he served as the CFO of Gryphon Digital Mining, working alongside Gutterman to restructure its balance sheet and regain Nasdaq compliance. Salzman emphasized that a shared focus on compliance and transparency is key to building trust with investors.

According to Yorkville, the mission of the new entity is to bridge traditional finance with digital asset strategies. The company will receive assets from Trump Media, Crypto.com and Yorkville. Trump Media & Technology Group operates Truth Social and Truth+ streaming platform. Crypto.com, founded in 2016, is a cryptocurrency exchange platform committed to accelerating the adoption of cryptocurrency.

Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media, expressed excitement about the appointments, stating that Gutterman and Salzman have strong track records in both digital assets and capital markets. Kevin McGurn, CEO of Yorkville Acquisition Corp., added that CRO is a high-performance token, and Trump Media Group CRO Strategy is poised to unlock significant value for shareholders.

Clear Street is serving as the capital markets advisor to Yorkville Acquisition Corp, with DLA Piper LLP (US) as legal counsel. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is serving as legal advisor to Crypto.com.
