The world of Mirzapur is expanding beyond the streaming screen. Ali Fazal, who plays Guddu Pandit, has ignited excitement among fans by sharing a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video from the sets of "Mirzapur: The Film," currently being shot in Rajasthan. The film is slated for a nationwide theatrical release in 2026, after which it will be available on Prime Video.
Fazal posted the clip from the ongoing schedule being filmed across Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. The video features Fazal in character as Guddu, arriving on set, offering a glimpse into the film's scale and production. Backed by Sanjay Dutt's "Nayak Nahi Khal Nayak Hoon Mai," the video shows Fazal walking purposefully towards the film set.
Expressing his gratitude, Fazal wrote, "MIRZAPUR: THE FILM. Shooting now. Rajasthan Schedule. Thank you Jaisalmer and Jodhpur for the immense love and hospitality that knows no bounds. Aapne humein apna samjha… To all the hotels that made us feel at home while we were toiling away from our own homes. Khammaghani. You have to meet everyone, the whole paltan is playing,". The phrase "puri paltan khel rahi hai" suggests the return of several popular characters from the series. He added that filming in Jaisalmer has added a new texture to the story.
"Mirzapur: The Film" marks the big-screen expansion of the popular crime series.
