Seattle, WA – Seattle Kraken forward Matty Beniers reached a significant milestone in his NHL career, recording his 100th assist on Tuesday, December 23rd. The assist came on a power-play goal scored by team captain Jordan Eberle during the Kraken's game.

Beniers, a cornerstone of the Kraken franchise, continues to be a key player for the team. Drafted second overall by the Kraken in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Beniers quickly made his mark in the league. He signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Kraken on April 10, 2022, and showcased his talent immediately. His first NHL goal came shortly after, in an April 16th game against the New Jersey Devils.

In his first full season, Beniers represented the Kraken at the 2023 NHL All-Star Game and was later named the NHL's Rookie of the Year, winning the Calder Memorial Trophy. That year, he led all rookies in points with 57, tying for the lead in goals with 24. Recognizing his importance to the team's future, the Kraken signed Beniers to a 7-year, $50 million contract extension on August 20, 2024.
