The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit cards for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) December 2025 session. Specifically, admit cards for the exam scheduled on January 2nd, 2026, are now available for download on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The UGC-NET December 2025 examination is being conducted from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across various centers in India. This examination determines the eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ (JRF) positions, as well as for Ph.D. admissions in Indian universities and colleges.
Candidates appearing for the January 2nd exam, which includes subjects like Computer Science & Applications, Library & Information Science, Forensic Science, Urdu, Bengali, Arabic, Bodo and Human Rights & Duties, must download their admit cards from the official website. To download the admit card, candidates need to log in using their application number and date of birth.
The admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the examination center, containing essential details such as the candidate's name, roll number, exam center address, exam date and time, reporting time, and shift timing.
The NTA had earlier released the city intimation slip on December 21, 2025, allowing candidates to plan their travel and accommodation in advance. The exam is being conducted for a total of 83-85 subjects. The UGC NET December 2025 notification was released on October 7, 2025, with the online application process commencing on the same day and closing on November 7, 2025.
The UGC NET exam consists of two papers, Paper I and Paper II, conducted in a single session with no break. There is no negative marking in either paper. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the UGC NET exam twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and Ph.D. admissions.
Candidates who are unable to download their admit cards are advised to clear their browser cache and cookies, try a different web browser, check their application status on the official website, or contact the NTA helpdesk.
