Malti Chahar, recently evicted from Bigg Boss 19 just days before the finale, has clarified the nature of her relationship with fellow contestant and music composer, Amaal Mallik. In an exclusive interview following her mid-week eviction, Chahar addressed speculation about a romantic connection with Mallik, stating definitively that they were never in a relationship and had only met once prior to entering the Bigg Boss house.
The clarification comes after a heated exchange between Chahar and Mallik in the Bigg Boss house, where they disagreed about the extent of their previous acquaintance. The disagreement started when Mallik questioned Chahar about discussing him with other housemates. Chahar openly spoke about her initial meeting with the singer and their prior phone conversations. Mallik, however, maintained that they had only met briefly at a party hosted by a mutual friend.
Chahar has now stated that she met Mallik roughly three months before the show began. She expressed her frustration that Mallik seemingly downplayed their acquaintance. According to Chahar, Shehbaz Badesha informed her that Mallik had been telling other contestants that he barely knew her. This prompted her to confront Mallik, but she was further irritated by his body language during the conversation.
"I was saying this very thing on the show. I met Amaal about three months before appearing on the show. So how can I become his girlfriend?" Chahar stated in an interview. She emphasized that she likes to get to know a person before dating, and there simply wasn't enough time for a relationship to develop. "We never even had that much time [together]. One would always learn more about the other person before starting to date these days... That was just the getting-to-know-each-other phase. I was not his girlfriend. And he was also traveling, I was also traveling,” she added.
The controversy surrounding Chahar and Mallik's past interactions became a talking point during Bigg Boss 19. Some viewers speculated about a potential romance, while others questioned the sincerity of their on-screen interactions. Chahar's recent statements aim to dispel any lingering doubts and set the record straight.
Chahar also expressed disappointment with Mallik and another contestant, Pranit More, after her eviction. While she didn't elaborate on the reasons for her disappointment with Mallik, it likely stems from their disagreement about the nature of their prior acquaintance.
Malti Chahar's eviction occurred just before the grand finale of Bigg Boss 19, which is scheduled for December 7, 2025. Her sudden departure has left viewers shocked, and the remaining contestants are now vying for the top spot. With her recent clarification, Chahar hopes to move past the controversy and focus on her career as an actor and filmmaker.
