The Realme 16 Pro series is set to launch in India on January 6, 2026, and here are five key things you should know before the launch. The series includes the Realme 16 Pro 5G and the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G.
1. Design and Build:
The Realme 16 Pro series will feature a new 'Urban Wild' design and has been designed in collaboration with Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa, focusing on comfort and usability. The phones will be available in Master Gold and Master Grey colorways. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will have a square-shaped rear camera module. The phones will feature softer curves and a bio-based silicone material, making them comfortable to hold. The Realme 16 Pro is expected to have a flat frame. The phones could come with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance and can withstand extreme temperatures. The Realme 16 Pro 5G will feature a sleek design with a punch-hole display.
2. Display:
Both phones will feature AMOLED displays with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 6,500 nits of peak brightness. The Realme 16 Pro 5G will have a 6.78-inch display with a 1080 x 2412 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will feature a curved display with Netflix HDR certification and a 2,500Hz touch response rate.
3. Performance and Software:
The Realme 16 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max 5G chipset, while the Realme 16 Pro+ will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. The Realme 16 Pro 5G has an AnTuTu benchmark score surpassing 970,000. Both phones will run on Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 and receive 3 years of OS upgrades. The Realme 16 Pro 5G is expected to feature up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
4. Camera:
Both handsets in the Realme 16 Pro series will feature a LumaColor Image-powered triple rear camera unit, headlined by a 200-megapixel Portrait Master primary rear camera. The company aims to offer high-quality portrait capture without the bulk of a dedicated zoom lens and is moving away from aggressive image sharpening and heavy filters, aiming for realistic skin tones and balanced colors. The Realme 16 Pro+ will get a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. The Realme 16 Pro 5G is expected to have a 50MP front camera.
5. Battery and Charging:
Both phones will be equipped with a 7,000mAh battery. The Realme 16 Pro 5G will support 80W fast charging, while the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G may support 80W fast charging. The phones have an "AI Long-life Battery Chip" and features like Bypass Charging to reduce heat during heavy tasks.
Expected Price:
The Realme 16 Pro 5G is expected to start at Rs. 31,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The higher-end options, offering 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, are tipped to be priced at Rs. 33,999 and Rs. 36,999, respectively. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G may begin at Rs 39,999 for the 8GB+128GB model. The 8GB + 256GB variant will cost Rs 41,999 and the most advanced 12GB + 256GB variant will cost Rs 44,999.
