Madhu Chopra Remembers Her Husband Dr. Ashok's Dedication to Service and His Enduring Legacy of Helping Others.

Priyanka Chopra's mother, Madhu Chopra, recently reflected on her "life of service" and paid tribute to her late husband, Dr. Ashok Chopra. Madhu recalled her days serving as a doctor in the Indian Army alongside her husband, emphasizing how those years shaped their family values and significantly influenced the upbringing of their children, Priyanka and Siddharth.

Dr. Ashok Chopra, a physician in the Indian Army, passed away on June 10, 2013, at the age of 62, after a long battle with cancer. He had retired from the Indian Army in 1997 as a lieutenant colonel. Priyanka, who shared a close bond with her father, has often spoken about their relationship and even has a tattoo on her right hand that reads "Daddy's lil girl" in his handwriting.

In an interview with Zoom, Madhu Chopra fondly remembered her marriage with Ashok Chopra, recalling how they bonded and decided to spend their lives together. She described their married life as happy and smooth. On the anniversary of Ashok's death in 2021, Madhu shared a picture of him on Twitter with the caption "Forever and always loved!" Priyanka reshared her mother's post at the time.

Madhu Chopra also recounted how the family coped with the loss of Dr. Chopra. Initially, they grieved separately, finding it difficult to express their emotions openly. Priyanka recognized the emotional strain and organized a vacation to Turks and Caicos, where they finally shared their feelings, cried together, and began to heal as a family. Madhu explained that they were a very tight unit and initially immersed themselves in each other's lives after Ashok's passing. She noted that for months, they didn't talk about how they felt or cry in front of each other, each holding back, thinking the others wouldn't be able to handle it. It was Priyanka who eventually broke the ice, initiating their collective healing process.

Priyanka had mentioned in an interview that one never really gets over the death of a parent. The actress was extremely close to her father. Madhu's recent reflection on her "life of service" and tribute to her late husband serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of Dr. Ashok Chopra's life and the values he instilled in his family.
