A freight train derailed near Bitroi station in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, disrupting rail traffic on the Bareilly-Budaun-Kasganj line. The incident occurred when the train, traveling from Budaun to Kasganj, struck bulls that had strayed onto the tracks.

According to officials, the train derailed after two bulls suddenly came onto the tracks. Initial reports suggest the train driver applied the emergency brakes in an attempt to avoid hitting the animals, causing a coach to leave the rails.

The derailment has caused significant disruption to rail services on the Bareilly-Kasganj route, impacting several trains, including the Bandra Express and Agra Fort. Authorities are working to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.

Dense fog in the area hampered initial repair efforts. However, service has now been restored.
