Suniel Shetty Prays in Ujjain for Ahan Shetty's Border 2 Success, Seeking Divine Blessings.

Ujjain, January 21, 2026 – Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, to offer prayers for the success of his son Ahan Shetty's upcoming film, Border 2. The film, inspired by the 1971 India-Pakistan War, is slated for release ahead of Republic Day on January 23.

Shetty was seen deeply engrossed in devotion in the Nandi hall of the temple. Speaking to reporters, he said he prayed for the well-being of his family and for the success of Border 2, a film based on soldiers. He added that since his son is acting in the film, he specifically sought the blessings of Lord Mahakal for its success. Following his visit to the Mahakaleshwar Temple, Shetty also paid his respects at the Kal Bhairav Temple, a site of significant religious importance where Kal Bhairav is considered the divine commander of Baba Mahakal. It is believed that visiting the Kal Bhairav Temple after praying at the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga brings spiritual fulfillment and blessings. Shetty was seen with a traditional red chandan tilak on his forehead. He expressed that the film's success is important as many families depend on it.

Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, is the second installment of the 1997 film Border. The film boasts an ensemble cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.

Ahan Shetty's involvement in Border 2 is particularly poignant, as he steps into a legacy previously held by his father. Suniel Shetty starred in the original Border, specifically in the iconic song "Sandese Aate Hain," which has become a patriotic anthem. Ahan is now part of "Ghar Kab Aaoge" in the sequel, making it an emotional full-circle moment for the family. Ahan shared a photo on social media with his father, reflecting on the experience. He acknowledged the emotional weight of the song, describing it as representing the unsaid emotions of soldiers and the prayers of their families.

Suniel Shetty has expressed his pride and emotions regarding his son's return to the big screen with Border 2. He emphasized the significance of Border as a film deeply rooted in patriotism and what it means for Ahan to be part of its sequel.

Border 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The film is reportedly made with a budget of ₹150-200 crore. Several songs have already been released, with Sonu Nigam's "Mitti Ke Bete" gaining popularity on social media for its tribute to soldiers' sacrifices. The iconic song "Sandese Aate Hain" has also been recreated with multiple singers.
