Veteran actor Nana Patekar reportedly left the trailer launch event of the upcoming film "O’Romeo" early, sparking considerable buzz. The trailer, which features Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Nana Patekar, was released today, January 21, 2026.
According to reports, Nana Patekar arrived at the venue around 12:00 PM, being one of the first celebrities to arrive for the event. However, Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the lead stars of the film, arrived approximately one and a half hours late, around 1:30 PM. This delay apparently led to Patekar's decision to leave the venue. Social media sources indicate that he left after waiting for the lead actors for that extended period.
Despite his departure, the trailer launch proceeded with the remaining cast and crew, including Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, and Farida Jalal, along with producers Sajid Nadiadwala and director Vishal Bhardwaj. They interacted with the press and posed for photographs.
Vishal Bhardwaj addressed Patekar's absence after the trailer launch. He playfully described Patekar as someone who "bullies everyone but also entertains," suggesting a possible lighthearted explanation for his early exit. Bhardwaj's comment implied that Patekar's behavior was not entirely unexpected and that there were no serious issues.
The trailer of "O’Romeo" has garnered mixed reviews from netizens. While Shahid Kapoor's portrayal of a "badass gangster" and Nana Patekar's glimpse were appreciated, some found the trailer lacking the impact of the initial teaser. Some dialogues in the trailer have also been criticized by viewers.
The film "O’Romeo" is reportedly based on the life of gangster Hussain Ustara, with Shahid Kapoor playing Haseen Ustara, a hitman who falls in love with Afsha, played by Triptii Dimri. The movie features high-octane action and also stars Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Disha Patani.
Adding another layer to the story, there were earlier reports about potential security concerns and demands for money related to the film's release. However, Hussain Ustara's daughter, Sanober Shaikh, has denied any threats from her family, stating that their concerns are related to the film's portrayal of her father and that they are pursuing legal action.
The incident involving Nana Patekar's early departure has drawn attention to the importance of punctuality and time management at Bollywood events. Some observers have pointed out that such delays and mismanagement are not uncommon in the industry.
