Samara Tijori: From Football Fields to Daldal, the Rising Star Takes Center Stage at 27

Samara Tijori, the 27-year-old daughter of actor Deepak Tijori and fashion designer Shivani Tijori, is making waves in the entertainment industry. With her latest role in the crime thriller series Daldal, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, she is capturing the attention of audiences and critics alike. Daldal is set to premiere on Prime Video on January 30, 2026.

Born on October 17, 1995, Samara's journey into acting wasn't a direct path. While her father, Deepak Tijori, is a recognized name in Bollywood, Samara carved her own way into the industry. She gained experience behind the camera, working as an assistant director on films like Dishoom (2016) and Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship (2020). This hands-on experience provided her with valuable insights into filmmaking.

Before fully committing to acting, Samara explored other interests, showcasing her diverse talents. She is a trained dancer in Kathak, Contemporary, and Bollywood dance forms. She is also an athlete who has played football at the national level.

Samara received formal acting training at the Jeff Goldberg Studio. Her Bollywood debut came in 2021 with the film Bob Biswas, where she played Mini Biswas, the daughter of Bob (Abhishek Bachchan) and Mary Biswas (Chitrangda Singh). She also starred in Masoom (2022). In Daldal, Samara plays a determined journalist who crosses paths with Bhumi Pednekar's character, DCP Rita Ferreira, who is hunting a serial killer in Mumbai while battling her own inner demons. The series, directed by Amrit Raj Gupta, promises a blend of psychological dread and suspense.

In 2009, Samara experienced a personal ordeal when she was kidnapped for a few hours at the age of 13. The suspect was apprehended and charged.

Despite her father's acting background, Samara has stated that she "pretty much figured out my career on my own". She values her father's advice but has independently navigated her path in the film industry. She is also the niece of actor Kabir Sadanand and actress Kunika Sadanand Lall.

Daldal, based on Vish Dhamija's bestselling book Bhendi Bazaar, is produced by Vikram Malhotra and Suresh Triveni. The series features Aditya Rawal in a lead role alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Samara Tijori, with a supporting cast including Geeta Agrawal, Chinmay Mandlekar, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan.
