Nana Patekar exits 'O'Romeo' trailer event citing hour-long wait; Vishal Bhardwaj explains the situation.

Mumbai, January 21, 2026 – Veteran actor Nana Patekar walked out of the trailer launch event for the upcoming film "O'Romeo," leaving attendees surprised. The incident occurred after Patekar waited for approximately an hour and a half for the arrival of the film's lead actors, Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.

The trailer launch was held in Mumbai amidst much anticipation, marking the fourth collaboration between director Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor. "O'Romeo," backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, is described as an actioner that weaves together romance, action, and emotional depth, with music by Vishal Bhardwaj, Arijit Singh, and Gulzar. The film is inspired by true events and is slated to release on Valentine's Day. The cast also includes Avinash Tiwary and Farida Jalal.

According to reports, Nana Patekar arrived at the venue around 12 pm and was present as the event began. However, Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri arrived around 1:30 pm and proceeded to unveil the film's poster. After waiting close to 90 minutes, Patekar decided to leave the venue, an action that quickly drew attention. Despite his exit, the remaining cast and makers interacted with the press and posed for photographs.

Director Vishal Bhardwaj addressed Patekar's departure, humorously referring to the senior actor as "the naughtiest child in the classroom" and a "bully" who "bullies everyone but also entertains". Bhardwaj also stated, "He said we made him wait for an hour but that is how he is. This is what makes him Nana Patekar".

The incident has sparked reactions on social media, with many fans supporting Patekar's decision, calling the delay "sheer disrespect" and praising him for upholding professionalism and discipline. Some fans lauded Patekar for standing up for his principles.

"O'Romeo" marks the fourth collaboration between Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj, known for their previous work in "Kaminey," "Haider," and "Rangoon". Their collaborations often explore complex characters, themes of moral ambiguity, grief, and psychological struggle.
