The trailer for the highly anticipated second season of Netflix's crime drama "Kohrra" has been released, introducing a new dynamic duo as they delve into a chilling murder mystery. The series is set to premiere on February 11, 2026.
Barun Sobti reprises his role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi, but this season finds him transferred from Jagrana to Dalerpura Police Station, working under a new commanding officer, Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur, played by Mona Singh. The story begins with the discovery of a woman's body in a barn in Dalerpura, setting off a chain of suspicion and silence within the town. The victim is played by Pooja Bhamrrah, with Anurag Arora portraying her grieving brother and Rannvijay Singha as her NRI husband.
The new case promises to be complex, with a growing list of suspects and buried secrets. Garundi hopes for a fresh start, but the darkness of "Kohrra" means the past is never truly gone. Mona Singh's character, Dhanwant Kaur, is described as restrained, methodical, and firm, a stark contrast to Garundi's more instinctive approach. This contrast suggests a compelling on-screen dynamic as they navigate the intricate case while grappling with their personal vulnerabilities.
The first season of "Kohrra" revolved around the murder of Tejinder "Paul" Dhillon, an NRI who was found dead just before his wedding. Alongside the primary investigation, the series explored themes of dysfunctional families, deception, and dark secrets within the Punjab countryside. The investigation was led by SI Balbir Singh (Suvinder Vicky) and ASI Amarpal Garundi (Barun Sobti). The show also touched upon social issues such as migration, feudal disputes, drugs, and land inheritance.
"Kohrra 2" is created and written by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia, and Sudip Sharma. Sharma, known for his work on "NH10," "Udta Punjab," and "Paatal Lok," also takes on directing duties alongside Faisal Rahman. The series is produced by A Film Squad Production in association with Act Three, with producers Saurabh Malhotra, Sudip Sharma, Manuj Mittra, and Tina Tharwani.
As Garundi and Kaur investigate, they find themselves entangled in a web of personal scars and quiet corruption. The trailer hints at struggles in their personal lives, with Garundi's wife having left him and Kaur's husband missing. The series promises an intense, character-driven crime drama where the police officers' dynamics are as crucial as the clues they uncover. "Kohrra" season 2 is set in the small town of Dalerpura, where crime and violence simmer beneath the surface of everyday life.
