Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets in a thrilling Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 final on Thursday at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. This victory marks RCB's second WPL title, tying them with the Mumbai Indians for the most successful team in the league.
Delhi Capitals, captained by Jemimah Rodrigues, were put in to bat after losing the toss and posted a formidable 203/4 in their 20 overs. This was the highest first-innings total in any WPL final. Laura Wolvaardt contributed a solid 44 off 25 balls, while Rodrigues anchored the innings with 57 off 37 deliveries. Chinelle Henry provided a late surge with an unbeaten 35 off 15 balls. RCB's Lauren Bell was the most economical bowler, conceding only 19 runs in her four overs.
RCB's chase was led by captain Smriti Mandhana, who smashed 87 off 41 balls. Mandhana formed a crucial 165-run partnership with Georgia Voll, who scored 79 off 54 balls. This partnership shifted the momentum in RCB's favor. Radha Yadav sealed the victory with back-to-back boundaries, finishing at 204/4 in 19.4 overs. This is the highest successful chase in WPL history.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru also won the Women's Premier League title in 2024. This is Delhi Capitals' fourth consecutive loss in a WPL final.
Smriti Mandhana was named Player of the Match. She is also the leading run-scorer of WPL 2026, surpassing Harmanpreet Kaur. Mandhana is also the fifth player to score 1000-plus runs in the WPL, joining Nat Sciver-Brunt (1348), Meg Lanning (1200), Harmanpreet Kaur (1193), and Shafali Verma (1124).
Nandani Sharma received the Emerging Player of the Season award, while Sophie Devine earned the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets.
