Aamir Khan Productions (AKP) recently changed its display picture (DP) on social media platforms to the Indian flag, drawing attention amidst boycott calls for their upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. The production house updated its profile pictures on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). Previously, the DP featured the production house's logo. The bio on these accounts reads, "yahaan alag andaaz hai (The style is different here)," seemingly as part of the promotion for their upcoming film.

This change has sparked varied reactions on social media. Some users believe this move is a "damage control" tactic following calls to boycott Sitaare Zameen Par. These calls for boycott reportedly arose after the trailer release of Sitaare Zameen Par, with some social media users questioning Aamir Khan's silence on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. One Reddit user commented, "Lol he's being boycotted online so clearly did it as damage control". Another user questioned whether this action would deter those intending to boycott the film. Some individuals have even pledged to boycott movies made by the studio.

However, some fans have defended Aamir Khan, pointing out that Aamir Khan Productions had previously shown support for India and Operation Sindoor on their social media. One fan wrote, "Why are people conveniently ignoring that this same account had posted in support of India and the armed forces during Operation Sindoor?". Aamir Khan himself stated earlier this month at an ABP event that "India wants a response to the Pahalgam attack. I am sure our Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take the right decision in the interest of our country".

Sitaare Zameen Par is considered a spiritual sequel to Aamir Khan's 2007 film, Taare Zameen Par. The film marks Aamir Khan's return to the big screen after almost three years. While the film was highly anticipated, recent tensions between India and Pakistan have altered the landscape.

It's worth noting that Aamir Khan participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in August 2022, hoisting the national flag at his Mumbai residence. At that time, the official social media accounts of Aamir Khan Productions also changed their display picture to the Indian flag.
