Sydney Sweeney, the actress celebrated for her roles in "Euphoria" and "Anyone But You," has recently revealed that she was the driving force behind the concept for her limited-edition "Bathwater Bliss" soap, a collaboration with Dr. Squatch. This unique product, which contains a touch of Sweeney's actual bathwater, has stirred a mix of reactions online, ranging from amusement to disbelief.

Sweeney shared details about the soap's origin during the New York premiere of her latest movie, "Echo Valley," on June 4th. In an interview with E! News, she cheekily stated, "I think that it's more fun to see everybody else talk about it." When asked about the bathwater concept, she simply added, "I pitched it." The collaboration was officially announced on May 29th through a joint Instagram post by Sweeney and Dr. Squatch, which read, "You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad … so we kept it! Introducing Sydney's Bathwater Bliss! A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater."

The "Bathwater Bliss" soap is not just a novelty item. It incorporates natural ingredients like sand and pine bark, with earthy, forest-like notes of Douglas fir, pine, and moss. According to Dr. Squatch, the soap is "a perfect combination of the two best places on the planet: The outdoors and Sydney Sweeney's bathtub." Only 5,000 bars of the soap have been produced, and they became available for purchase on June 6th.

Sweeney has embraced the unconventional nature of the product, calling it "weird in the best way." She explained that her goal is to encourage more men to switch to natural personal care products. "Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural," she stated in a press release.

The collaboration has generated considerable buzz online. Some have praised it as a clever marketing stunt, while others have criticized it as gimmicky or even objectifying. In response to the mixed opinions, Sweeney had a simple reply: "I mean, honestly though." She seems to be taking the reactions in stride, focusing on the potential to promote natural grooming alternatives and spark conversations about male hygiene.

Beyond the bathwater soap, Sydney Sweeney remains a prominent figure in Hollywood with a diverse range of upcoming projects. These include "Echo Valley," a suspenseful thriller set on a horse farm, premiering in select theaters on June 6, 2025, and globally on Apple TV+ on June 13; "The Housemaid," a psychological thriller adapted from Freida McFadden's novel, slated for release in December 2025; and "Americana," a contemporary Western movie. She is also set to star in "Scandalous!," a biopic about Kim Novak's controversial romance with Sammy Davis Jr., and produce and star in "Split Fiction," based on the action-adventure video game of the same name. Sweeney will also return for the long-awaited third season of "Euphoria," expected in 2026.
