A Dubai-bound IndiGo flight, operating as flight 6E-1507, made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday, August 28, 2025, due to a technical fault in one of its engines. The Airbus A320-271N, carrying over 150 passengers, had taken off from Surat earlier in the morning.

The pilots detected the technical issue shortly after takeoff from Surat International Airport. Recognizing the potential severity of the problem, the pilot promptly contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) and requested permission to divert the flight to the nearest suitable airport, which was Ahmedabad. Airport officials, however, clarified that the landing was precautionary and not declared an emergency.

The announcement regarding the engine malfunction initially sparked panic among the passengers. However, the crew members effectively managed the situation, reassuring the travelers and maintaining order. Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely in Ahmedabad, and no injuries were reported among the passengers or crew.

Following the safe landing, engineers from IndiGo conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft to determine the exact nature and cause of the technical fault. Simultaneously, the airline arranged for an alternate flight to transport the stranded passengers to their original destination, Dubai.
