Ahead of the Vice Presidential elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a two-day workshop for all National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Members of Parliament in New Delhi. The workshop, which commenced on Sunday, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A photo from the event has circulated widely on social media, showing PM Modi seated in the last row alongside other leaders.

BJP leaders, including MP Ravi Kishan and Sambit Patra, shared the photo on X (formerly Twitter), praising the Prime Minister's gesture. Ravi Kishan's post, written in Hindi, translates to "Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji sitting in the last row at the workshop of NDA MPs is the strength of the BJP. Here, everyone is a karyakarta (worker) in the organisation". Kishan's sentiment underlines the BJP's emphasis on its worker-centric ideology.

The two-day workshop includes sessions on the party's history and evolution, and strategies for parliamentarians to boost efficiency. The first day of the workshop focused on two key themes: "Towards a developed India by 2027" and "effective use of social media by MPs". The second day is expected to concentrate on preparations for the Vice Presidential elections scheduled for Tuesday, September 9. A mock voting session is also planned.

During the workshop, PM Modi was felicitated by NDA leaders for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms. The GST Council approved these reforms, dubbed as a "Diwali bonanza," which will be implemented on September 22. The approved reforms are expected to reduce the number of tax slabs and slash rates across essential goods and services. The new structure will leave only two main slabs, 5% and 18%, with a higher rate of 40% applied to sin goods. PM Modi hailed the GST reforms as a "double dose" of support and growth for the country.

The Vice Presidential elections are scheduled for September 9, with polling to be held from 10 am to 5 pm and the results announced on the same day. The NDA has nominated CP Radhakrishnan as its candidate, while the India bloc has nominated B Sudershan Reddy.

PM Modi's participation in the workshop and his choice to sit among party workers in the last row is seen as a message of unity and dedication to the party's grassroots. It reinforces the image of the BJP as an organization where every member, regardless of their position, is a valued contributor.
