According to Boney, Sridevi wanted to completely immerse herself in her character as a determined mother seeking justice for her daughter. She didn't want any distractions that might take her out of that zone. She wanted to remain in character and not feel like a "real wife" during the shoot.

Boney Kapoor shared that they were shooting the 21st version of the script in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and later in Georgia. Despite being husband and wife, they never shared a room during this time because Sridevi wanted to avoid any distractions. She was so engrossed in her character that she wanted to maintain that focus, not letting her real-life relationship interfere with her portrayal of a mother. Rahman to compose the music for the film, but his fees were beyond their budget. Sridevi insisted on giving up a substantial portion of her own fees, around ₹50-70 lakh, so that they could afford to hire Rahman. Sridevi's commitment to her roles extended beyond just acting. Although Telugu was her mother tongue, she learned Hindi to ensure her performances in Hindi films were not compromised.
