The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended a Pakistani national along the International Border (IB) in the R.S. Pura sector of Jammu on Sunday night, September 7, 2025. The BSF has confirmed that a formal protest will be lodged with Pakistan regarding the incident.
The intruder was spotted near the Octroi outpost in Suchetgarh tehsil at approximately 9:10 PM. BSF officials reported that the individual, identified as Siraj Khan from 27-Chak village in Bhalwal tehsil of Punjab province, was seen crossing the border and moving aggressively towards the fence. Despite repeated warnings from the security personnel, Khan did not stop. Subsequently, BSF troops fired rounds before apprehending him.
During the arrest, authorities recovered two Pakistani currency notes of Rs 20 and Rs 10 from Khan. He has been handed over to the local police for further investigation. A multi-agency interrogation is underway involving the BSF, IB, and Military Intelligence to determine the purpose of the intrusion.
In response to the incident, security has been heightened along the Jammu frontier. Recent flash floods have caused damage to several border posts and fencing in the area, raising concerns about potential vulnerabilities along the border.
BSF officials have emphasized that this arrest highlights the ongoing vigilance of BSF troops along the IB, who maintain strict surveillance and respond decisively to any intrusion attempts.
