The family of the late Sunjay Kapur is embroiled in a legal battle over his estate, estimated to be worth ₹30,000 crore. At the center of the dispute is a will, dated March 21, 2025, which purportedly leaves Sunjay Kapur's entire personal estate to his third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur.

Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira and Kiaan Raj, have approached the Delhi High Court, challenging the will and seeking a share in their father's assets. They contend that their father never mentioned any will during his lifetime and allege that Priya Sachdev's actions since his death suggest the will was fabricated. The children claim that Priya initially denied the existence of a will, only to later present the disputed document. Represented by their mother, Karisma Kapoor, as their legal guardian, the children are seeking a partition of the estate, full disclosure of assets, and a permanent injunction against Priya Kapur and other defendants. They have specifically requested the court to freeze all personal assets belonging to Sunjay Kapur until the matter is resolved.

Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur, has also raised objections to the will, claiming that she has been completely excluded and left with nothing. She stated that she has sent numerous emails requesting information about the will and related documents, but has received no response. "I have got nothing in the will," she said. "I have written 15 emails asking for the documents — show me the papers. Everything is going to Priya Kapur or Karisma's children. This is suspicious. I am a Class 1 legatee and now my son leaves me on the road". She further claimed that ₹10,000 crore worth of assets should have been hers. Rani Kapur questioned how the entire estate could be transferred to Priya Sachdev so soon after her marriage to Sunjay, alleging that her own vested interests have been disregarded. "Ms Sachdev comes in, within three months of her getting married, everything goes?" she asked.

Priya Sachdev's legal team has contested the claims, informing the Delhi High Court that Karisma Kapoor's children have already received ₹1,900 crore from the family trust. Her counsel argued that the will, though unregistered, is not invalid. The Delhi High Court has directed Priya Sachdev to present all the details of Sunjay Kapur's will in court. The court has also asked Priya Kapur to disclose all movable and immovable assets. Senior advocates are representing the various parties involved in the case.
