Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up for a family entertainer with Sooraj Barjatya, also starring Sharvari Wagh and Anupam Kher. In an exclusive interview, Khurrana shared updates about the film, describing his character as a "green flag," suggesting a departure from typical Bollywood male leads.

The film is a family drama set in Mumbai, a departure from Barjatya's usual grand sets. Barjatya aims for authenticity, grounding the film in Mumbai’s everyday life, focusing on genuine family connections and relatable experiences for the audience. He wants the audience to feel like the world he creates is genuine.

Khurrana will be stepping into the shoes of "Prem," a character previously portrayed by Salman Khan in Barjatya's films like 'Maine Pyar Kiya' and 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun'. The director described Khurrana as a dedicated and fine actor.

Barjatya said that it’s all about finding the right story, making it feel real, and choosing the right cast. The film will feature a large ensemble cast, capturing the warmth, chaos, and bonds that define family life.

Barjatya admitted to feeling nervous as the film heads into production. He said he's always nervous before the shoot of every film, even his first film, 'Maine Pyaar Kiya'. As a creator, it’s not about box office numbers, but about connecting with the audience.
